The college, in the heart of the Rutgers University campus, is looking for programmers and web developers for its Information Technology (IT) and Information Services (IS) jobs.
Princeton University announced on Wednesday that it has hired three programmers to help run its IT department, and that the IT department will be able to provide software engineering and web development support.
The new hires join the ranks of two others that are expected to join the new staff soon.
“Princeton’s IT staff is committed to providing a high level of technical competence and professionalism to our students, faculty, staff, and alumni,” said a university statement.
“As the college grows and becomes more technologically adept, our IT team will continue to enhance and enhance our technology capabilities.”
The hiring comes as Princeton grapples with the fallout from the hack of the university’s network that forced the closure of its IT system, which affected nearly 3,000 students.
In a statement, the university said that “it will not tolerate the malicious activity that affected students’ access to their academic institutions and our community.”
The school has offered several cybersecurity jobs in recent months, but has not said how many.
