The anxiety can get so bad you need to take time out of your day to relax and enjoy your life, according to a new study from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
“There’s a tendency to overanalyze, to think about everything that’s going on around us,” says Michael Berenson, a psychologist at the university.
When anxiety is under control, you can be more focused on your life and your job, Berenston says.
For example, the University at Buffalo psychologist who led the study suggests you try to avoid situations that are stressful to you, like social situations, or people who might cause anxiety.
Another way to handle anxiety is to seek out a therapist who can help you with it, Borenson says.
You might also want to consider asking a trusted friend or family member to offer support and support is important, he adds.
A lot of people, like Beren, who are anxious for social interactions or people, might not realize that their anxiety is related to social anxiety, he says.
If you feel anxious or that your life is a source of anxiety, you may need to seek help from a professional, Bidenson says, like a therapist.
You can talk to your doctor, mental health professional, or anyone you trust about how to manage anxiety and social anxiety in your life.
If your anxiety is so severe you need help from someone outside your family or friends, you’ll need to ask a family member or a friend for help, Bensons work suggests.
The good news is that, when you’re able to manage your anxiety, it won’t feel like you’re constantly struggling with your social anxiety disorder.
You can just find a therapist or psychologist who can get you to a place where you’re in control of your anxiety.
